“I Have two wives; They all stay in my house” — Shatta Wale opens up on polygamous relationship
Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has revealed that he is currently in a polygamous relationship, disclosing that he has two wives who live together with him under the same roof.
The outspoken musician made the revelation during an interview on the Nigeria-based Honest Bunch Podcast, where he spoke candidly about his love life and why he decided to embrace polygamy after experiencing failed monogamous relationships.
“I think I have two wives now. I don’t want to lie about it,” Shatta Wale said, adding, “They all stay in my house.”
According to the “On God” hitmaker, his decision was shaped by a lack of trust in his previous relationships. He explained that despite being committed to one partner at a time, many of those relationships eventually broke down.
“I’ve been in single relationships that have not really helped me. The trust wasn’t there,” he said, noting that his current partners understand one another and have built their relationship on mutual trust.
The musician also reflected on his past relationships, including one with the mother of his first child, whom he said supported him when he had little but with whom the relationship eventually ended. He added that another relationship also faced challenges despite his success in the music industry.
Shatta Wale maintained that his current arrangement has brought him peace, insisting that the women involved know each other well and coexist harmoniously in the same home.
