The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tempane, Hon. Joseph Mbilla, has assured residents that all major bridges damaged by recent floods in the district will be repaired to restore safe and smooth movement for commuters.
Speaking during an inspection of the repaired Tempane Bridge, which links Tempane and Garu on Tuesday, the DCE appealed to residents to remain patient and trust the government of President John Dramani Mahama to deliver on its infrastructure commitments under the administration’s resetting agenda.
Hon. Mbilla said government agencies are actively working to address the damaged road infrastructure, expressing confidence that the ongoing interventions will improve connectivity across the district.
He noted that the recently washed-away Tempane Bridge has been successfully repaired and reopened to traffic, bringing relief to residents, traders and motorists who rely on the route for daily transportation.
The DCE also disclosed that diversion routes have been created at the Kongo Bridge to ensure commuters can continue travelling while repair works are being prepared.
According to him, the Bugri Bridges have already received attention from the Department of Feeder Roads and the Ghana Highway Authority, adding that rehabilitation works on those structures will commence soon.
Hon. Mbilla reiterated the government’s commitment to restoring all damaged transport infrastructure in the district, stressing that the repairs are aimed at improving accessibility, supporting economic activities and ensuring the safety of road users.
He urged residents to continue cooperating with the authorities and exercise caution when using diversion routes as efforts continue to permanently restore all affected bridges.
